Excellent Characteristics Of Tantalum Protective Sleeve

Tantalum protective tube is a hollow tubular component made of high-purity metal tantalum (usually 99.9% purity or above) through precision machining. It is mostly a seamless structure (also welded for specific scenarios) and is often used as an inner lining, protective sleeve or isolation component, suitable for extreme corrosion/high temperature conditions.
Core characteristics: Super corrosion resistance: At room temperature, except for a few media such as hydrofluoric acid and fuming sulfuric acid, it is extremely stable to concentrated hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, aqua regia, and strong bases; High temperature resistance: melting point up to 2996 ℃, can work stably for a long time below 1500 ℃; Good thermal conductivity+low expansion, and excellent biocompatibility (non-toxic, tissue friendly); Good ductility, can be processed into customized forms such as thin-walled, small-diameter, and one end sealed.
The manufacturing process uses high-purity tantalum ingots/tantalum powder as raw materials, which are forged, rolled, cold drawn, heat-treated, and then precision cut, sealed, and surface treated to produce; Seamless tantalum sleeve ensures uniform wall thickness and no defects.
Main use for chemical/metallurgical temperature measurement: protective sleeve for thermocouples/thermal resistors, installed in strong corrosion reaction vessels and hydrochloric acid/sulfuric acid production lines, isolating medium protection probes; Chemical equipment lining: used for pipelines and heat exchanger tubes to reduce overall costs while providing tantalum grade corrosion resistance; Electronics/Semiconductors: Components of vacuum furnaces and etching chambers, stable under high temperature and vacuum conditions; Medical: The sleeve/support components of implanted devices have good biocompatibility. Supplementary distinction - Compared with ordinary tantalum pipes: Tantalum sleeves focus more on protection/isolation functions (often closed at one end, thin-walled, and used in conjunction with other components), while tantalum pipes can be used as fluid transport pipes; The cost is relatively high, and it is mostly selected in the working conditions where conventional alloys (stainless steel, Hastelloy) fail; -It is strictly prohibited to use it in hydrofluoric acid system as it may cause chemical reactions.
