Molybdenum alloy targets, which are utilized as wiring and electrode materials for flat-panel displays like LCDs (liquid crystal displays) and PDPs, have gained increasing attention in recent years.Based on this recognition, the molybdenum-niobium target is the first molybdenum alloy target material to be extensively used.As a result, the market demand for rotating targets made of molybdenum-niobium is rising steadily.
Targets for molybdenum and niobium typically have 5%–10% niobium content. Sintering is typically used to create them. Niobium sintering is often carried out in vacuum sintering equipment because of its blatant hydrogen absorption during the operation. However, the molybdenum-niobium target made using the conventional production technique cannot satisfy the high standards for quality set by the fast developing flat-panel display sector.
The following are the steps involved in processing the molybdenum-niobium alloy:
The molybdenum-niobium alloy plate is processed in the following steps: first, mix; second, divide the quantitative molybdenum powder and niobium powder into at least three small parts; and third, mix each small part of the molybdenum powder and niobium powder into the small parts of the mixed powder. Numerous small bits of mixed powder are synthesized into mixed alloy powder after the powder has been sieved and mixed numerous times.
After being isostatically pressed into an alloy billet, the material is then shaped. It then enters a high temperature, intermediate frequency furnace where it is sintered while being shielded by hydrogen. There are three temperature zones for sintering: 0-800°C, 800-1600°C, and 1600–2000°C. It is recommended that the temperature zone be sintered for at least three hours before being sintered into an alloy billet shape.
Following that, forging and rolling are done. After high-temperature forging at 1200–1400°C for densification, it is heated to 1500–1600°C in a high-temperature furnace for rolling into a plate to stock specifications, and after cutting, fine grinding, and machining, finishing is done. become a final plate made of the alloy molybdenum-niobium.
