High purity molybdenum plates are produced by extrusion, forging and rolling and have a silvery gray metallic luster. They are used in the construction of molds and parts furnaces, and in the manufacture of components for the electronics and semiconductor industries.
High purity molybdenum plate is hard and also soft, and is more ductile than tungsten. A molybdenum sheet is a kind of metal sheet with molybdenum as the main material. Molybdenum has a high modulus of elasticity, while tungsten, and tantalum only have a high melting point. Molybdenum sheets are used in many special sheets of steel. Molybdenum slabs made of powder metallurgy are used for deep processing of wire, plates, and smelting additives. The surface is finished in a polished, rough, or hot-rolled state; it depends on the parameters of thickness and width.
A high purity molybdenum plate made from high purity molybdenum powder and ranging from 00.090" to 3" thick is classified as a molybdenum sheet by Yusheng Metals. Molybdenum sheet is widely used in the construction of molds and parts furnaces, and in the manufacture of components for the electronics and semiconductor industries. Molybdenum sheet is blackish brown, or silvery gray metallic luster if washed with alkali, and can be produced according to the width and thickness provided by the user. The surface is smooth, flat, and free from defects such as heavy skin, splitting, layering, cracks, split edges, and impurities added. Sheets with thickness greater than 2MM are supplied with the hot rolled condition, and those with thickness less than 2MM are supplied with cold rolled or cleaned surface condition.
