Characteristics of high purity zirconium tubes 

The dimensional accuracy and surface quality of the tube are required to be very high. Therefore, the process equipment should have good precision, and mold design and production should be advanced and reasonable. 

The high-purity zirconium tubes produced by Yusheng Metal are made of high-purity sponge zirconium. Before leaving the factory, the nuclear tubes are assessed for chemical composition, corrosion performance, mechanical properties, surface quality, hydride orientation, metallographic organization, dimensional deviation, nondestructive testing, and other indicators to ensure that the chemical composition and indicators of corrosion performance of the tubes and bars are the same and the indicators of mechanical properties are similar. The thermal neutron capture cross-section of zirconium material is very small, which is one of the excellent nuclear physical properties and is guaranteed by the chemical composition of the material. Due to its good corrosion resistance, moderate mechanical properties, low atomic thermal neutron absorption cross-section, and good compatibility with nuclear fuel, high purity zirconium pipes are mostly used as core structural materials for water-cooled nuclear reactors.
