Pure metal tantalum wire, grade Ta1, has the following characteristics and applications: pure metal without doping elements. Tantalum wire has high chemical purity, coarse grains, and slightly poor resistance to oxygen brittleness. It is suitable for use with tantalum powder with low oxygen and nitrogen content, and the sintering temperature of the anode block is preferably below 1700°.


Physical properties of capacitor-grade tantalum wire: density between 16.45-16.66, resistivity at 13.5, thermal expansion coefficient at 6.5, specific heat capacity at 0.142, and resistance temperature coefficient at 3.5.


Chemical properties: Anti-oxidation performance It is very stable in air at room temperature, but its anti-oxidation performance is very poor at high temperature. It will oxidize when heated to above 300°, and the oxidation becomes more severe as the temperature increases.
Corrosion resistance: Tantalum has good corrosion resistance in most acids. At 150°, tantalum cannot be corroded by hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, phosphoric acid and organic acid at any concentration; but tantalum can be dissolved in hydrofluoric acid, a mixture of hydrofluoric acid and nitric acid; it dissolves more violently in a mixture of hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid.


Mechanical properties: The grade is Ta1, in the annealed state, the tensile strength is 545MPa, the elongation is 22.5%, and the surface hardness is 140HV


Process performance: According to the national standard GB/T 3463-1995 Tantalum Wire, the performance of commonly used capacitor-grade tantalum wire is: the anti-oxidation brittleness (wire folding) of the grade Ta1 is greater than 2 times, and the surface quality of the tantalum wire is bright, clean, free of oil, cracks and burrs. Observe the continuous pits and scratches of tungsten under a 10-beam magnifying glass.
