Recently, high-purity tantalum sheets after rolling, annealing and flattening have passed final inspection. The sheets have smooth surfaces without peeling, scratches or pits and uniform thickness. Compared with imported products, homemade tantalum sheets greatly shorten delivery cycles and cut purchasing costs. With controllable composition and low-impurity content, they fit solid-electrolytic capacitors, dental parts, high-temperature-resistant gaskets and scientific-research samples.

Industry experts point out that thin sheets of rare metals are essential raw materials for high-end manufacturing. In future, the enterprise will focus on developing tantalum and niobium foils and sheets, solve technical difficulties for ultra-thin tantalum-foil production and launch more homemade tantalum products. Replacing imported supplies with domestic tantalum materials helps China realize independent supply of advanced-material industrial chains and promote high-quality development of rare-metal deep-processing industry.2
