1.Introduction to High Purity Niobium Sheet
Niobium has a melting point of 2468 °C and a mass of 8.6 g/cm3. Due to its qualities of corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, and malleability, niobium is widely used in the electronics industry, the steel industry, the chemical industry, optics, the production of gemstones, superconducting technology, aerospace technology, and other industries. Niobium is most frequently used in sheet and plate shape.

 

2.Manufacturing Technology
Typically, High Purity Niobium Sheet is produced by cold rolling. With the total processing rate restricted to 80% to 90% of slab thickness, each processing rate is controlled at 6% to 8% of slab thickness. To ensure the quality of the sheet metal's surface, the forging blank must be flawless, unpolluted, and the rolling surface must be immaculate.

Niobium alloy sheets, strips, and foils are processed and heated using the following steps: electron beam melting of the niobium ingot; forging at room temperature (or about 400°C); annealing; roughing; annealing; strip rolling; annealing; and finally, heating.
The same process is employed to create pure niobium sheet, strip, and foil as well as sheet, strip, and foil containing 1% niobium and niobium compounds.

3.Application
