By allowing sponge titanium to absorb hydrogen, the HDH process creates brittleness that can easily be mechanically crushed to create titanium hydride powder, which is then dehydrogenated at a high temperature under vacuum to produce pure titanium powder.We use a horizontal hydrogenation furnace. The hydrogenation reaction occurs when the temperature rises above 350°C. As the temperature rises, the reaction becomes violent and a significant amount of hydrogen is quickly absorbed. The hydrogen is then held for three hours and slowly cooled to room temperature in a hydrogen atmosphere. The hydrogen content can be obtained at 3.8% 0.2% of titanium hydride powder.
