Pure molybdenum rods are an important inorganic mineral which, from a geological point of view, is the natural mineral of the Earth's crust. There are three types of molybdenum rod deposits: limestone, chalk and marble. According to research, the world's carbonate rocks (including molybdenum rods and dolomite) cover an area of 5.34 million square kilometres, accounting for 4% of the Earth's land surface area. China's carbonate rocks cover an area of 3.44 million square kilometres, accounting for 64% of the world's surface area.
There are two types of pure molybdenum rods: light molybdenum rods (PCC) and molybdenum rods (GCC). They are characterised by their artificially adjustable colour, particle size, surface properties, dispersion, rheology, thixotropy and crystal shape. Furthermore, molybdenum rods are chemically pure, chemically inert and thermally stable, and do not decompose below 400 degrees Celsius. In addition, it has the advantages of low oil absorption, low hardness, low wear value, non-toxicity, odourless, tasteless and good dispersibility.
Due to these special properties, its applications are developing rapidly and are now widely used in industry and agriculture, such as rubber, plastics, paper, paint, lacquer, ink, cables, pharmaceuticals, fertilisers, feed, food, sugar, textiles, glass, ceramics, hygiene products, sealants, adhesives, insecticides and pesticide carriers as well as in environmental protection such as flue sulphur removal and water treatment. Lightweight molybdenum rods have overlapping and different uses to molybdenum rods, mainly in paper, plastics, elastomers, food, food colours, pharmaceuticals, adhesives and sanitary products. In recent years, the range of uses for lightweight molybdenum rods has increased as a result of information about the enhanced properties of certain materials.
They are available in different lengths according to customer requirements. In addition, three different surface finishes are available, depending on the end use.
The lanthanum-doped molybdenum rods have a smaller cross-section after recrystallisation and are a material that retains its ductility at higher temperatures.
