Production process

Rolling method: First, the cobalt ingot is made into a cobalt billet through smelting, casting and other processes, and then the cobalt billet is gradually rolled into a cobalt foil of the required thickness through multiple rolling on the rolling mill.

 

During the rolling process, the pressure of the roller, the rolling speed and other parameters need to be precisely controlled to ensure the thickness uniformity and surface flatness of the cobalt foil. At the same time, in order to prevent cracks or other defects in the cobalt foil during the rolling process, the cobalt billet needs to be properly pretreated and intermediate annealed.

Cobalt foil packaging

Inner packaging
Because cobalt foil is very easy to oxidize, the inner layer adopts vacuum packaging to effectively prevent the cobalt foil from being oxidized, contaminated and scratched.
For high moisture-proof requirements, aluminum foil composite bags should also be used as inner packaging.

Middle packaging
Middle packaging materials are generally made of cardboard or corrugated cardboard. Cardboard can provide certain mechanical protection for cobalt foil to prevent it from being deformed by external pressure.

Outer packaging
The outermost packaging is usually a wooden box or a plastic box, which is durable and can withstand large weight and impact.

Chemical composition detection

Purity detection: Atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and other analytical methods are used to accurately determine the cobalt content and the types and contents of impurity elements in the cobalt foil to ensure that the purity of the cobalt foil meets relevant standards and application requirements, such as the general requirement that the cobalt content is ≥99.9%.
