What is Tantalum Tungsten Alloy
As an important member of the tantalum-tungsten (TaW) alloy family, tantalum-tungsten alloy (Ta10W) is an alloy material composed of transition metal tantalum and tungsten elements. It is an infinite solid solution, and its English name is Tantalum decatungstic alloy.
In terms of physical and chemical properties, tantalum-tungsten alloy combines the advantages of tantalum and tungsten, mainly in terms of high melting temperature, high density, high hardness, good bending strength, wear resistance, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance. However, with the change of tungsten content, the performance of the alloy also changes.
In terms of production process, the production steps of tantalum-tungsten alloy are: tantalum powder and tungsten powder are evenly mixed in a ratio of 9:1; then sieve through a 120-mesh screen and press the alloy rod; then vacuum sinter to obtain a coarse ingot, and place the coarse ingot in a vacuum electron beam furnace for more than two smeltings; finally forging, rolling, and drawing.
In terms of usage, tantalum-tungsten alloy can be used as high-temperature structural material and corrosion-resistant material. It is suitable for use in high-temperature, high-pressure, corrosion-resistant working environments.
