Production methods and processes of high-purity rare earth molybdenum wire:

Molybdenum wire as a wire cutting machine tool cutting line, has been widely used, in order to improve the strength of molybdenum wire, is currently doped in the molybdenum strip with a certain amount of lanthanum oxide or yttrium oxide to improve the strength of molybdenum, but as a cutting line of molybdenum wire also needs to have a certain toughness, in order to resist the force in the cutting process, improve the service life of the cutting line, is currently only relying on the toughness of the molybdenum wire itself, but with the continuous improvement of cutting requirements, the toughness of the molybdenum wire also puts forward higher requirements.


The original production method of rare earth molybdenum wire includes the following steps:

(1) vacuum doping of molybdenum dioxide into the pot;

(2) Spray nebulized neodymium oxide and stir for 30-45 minutes; 

(3) Spray the atomized lanthanum oxide and stir for 15-20 minutes; 

(4) Add 10-15wt% potassium nitrate solution and stir evenly;

(5) The above mixture is dried; (6) Wire drawing.


Although the above technology discloses that the addition of rare earth elements can improve the fracture elongation of molybdenum wire to a certain extent, but does not describe in detail the specific production method of molybdenum wire, and sprayed through the form of atomization because the atomization itself will have higher atomization requirements for rare earth elements, the cost is higher, and it cannot be well promoted and applied.

In view of the above shortcomings, the purpose of the new production method is to provide high-purity rare earth molybdenum wire, which can meet the production needs and further improve the toughness and low wire breaking rate of rare earth molybdenum wire.


Its point of innovation is that the rare earth molybdenum wire comprises a composite molybdenum wire of metal molybdenum element and rare earth oxides; Specific steps include:

 (1) placing molybdenum dioxide into a heat treatment furnace; Add neodymium oxide 0.1-0.3wt%, stirring for 30-45 minutes; Add the rare earth mixture 0.002-0.008wt%, stirring for 5-8 minutes; Finally, add 10-15wt% potassium nitrate solution, stir evenly to obtain doped molybdenum powder; And the above mixture is dried; 

(2) Pressing molybdenum blank strips to form multiple molybdenum rods with a diameter between 85mm-90mm; 

(3) Sintered molybdenum blank strips, forged molybdenum rods; 

(4) Perform wire drawing to generate molybdenum wire.


In some embodiments, the rare earth mixture comprises lanthanum oxide, yttrium oxide, and cerium oxide; The additional amounts of lanthanum oxide, yttrium oxide, and cerium oxide are 10-15wt%, 35-55wt%, and 30-55wt%, respectively. In some embodiments, the rare earth mixture comprises lanthanum oxide, yttrium oxide, and cerium oxide; The added amounts of lanthanum, yttrium oxide, and cerium oxide are 15wt%, 45wt%, and 40wt%, respectively.


The drying process is specifically

1) The mixture powder to be treated is mixed and placed in the heat treatment furnace for heat treatment and heat insulation, and then cooled to room temperature with the furnace to obtain the mixed powder;

2) Place the heat-treated mixed powder in the washing water to dissolve the impurities in the mixed powder; Then filter out and dry the powder in the washing water, that is, to obtain the required drying mixture; The drying temperature is 200-300 degrees, and the drying time is 1-2h.

Washing water is a tam-52 chelating agent solution formed by dissolving the tam-52 chelating agents in deionized water.
