Product Description
The production method of welded tantalum tubes is to select tantalum sheets of good quality and suitable size for curling and welding, then treat the weld seam, and finally shape them to produce tantalum tubes of suitable size. This process produces tantalum tubes with good wall thickness and internal surface quality, high production efficiency, and low cost, and importantly, large diameter tantalum tubes can be produced. The appearance of corrosion-resistant tantalum tubes shows a uniform metallic luster without oxidation, hydrogenated discoloration, scratches, or distortion, and strictly conforms to ASTM B 521 specifications.
Tantalum can be used as a replacement of stainless steel in various inorganic acid production plants and waste acid concentration equipment, with a life expectancy several dozen times higher than that of stainless steel. Tantalum also has excellent chemical properties and is extremely resistant to corrosion.
It does not react to hydrochloric acid, concentrated nitric acid, or "aqua regos" under either cold or hot conditions. Experiments have proven that tantalum's corrosion resistance is very good, very similar to that of glass and that it is resistant to almost all chemical media except hydrofluoric acid, fluorine, fuming sulfuric acid, and alkalis. This rare metal characteristic gives a wide scope for the application of tantalum.
