Forming and processing

According to different production processes, tantalum tube forming and processing are mainly divided into powder metallurgy and electron beam melting. We often use electron beam melting. First, place the tantalum ingot in an electron beam melting furnace, use high-energy electron beam heating to melt it, and remove impurities in a high vacuum environment. Then the liquid tantalum is processed into tantalum tubes of the required size by drawing or extrusion.

 

Subsequent processing

The formed tantalum tubes need to undergo a series of subsequent processing steps to improve their performance and quality. Among them, heat treatment is the key processing process. By heating and cooling the tantalum tube at a specific temperature, its internal structure is improved, processing stress is eliminated, and the toughness and strength of the tantalum tube are improved.
Then the surface treatment is carried out. Common methods include mechanical polishing and chemical pickling. Mechanical polishing uses polishing equipment and abrasive materials to remove scratches and oxide scales on the surface of the tantalum tube so that its surface finish meets the specified standards. Cleaning
