Tantalum tube manufacturing

Forging: Tantalum ingots are heat treated by forging, and flat billets or round small and medium-sized billets are made by hammering and stamping.
Cold processing: including cold rolling, cold drawing and other processes. Cold processing can further improve the dimensional accuracy and surface quality of tantalum tubes. During the cold processing, the compression rate of tantalum tubes can be above 95%.
Heat treatment: Tantalum heat treatment is mainly annealing, usually carried out in a high vacuum to prevent tantalum from reacting with elements such as oxygen, nitrogen, carbon and hydrogen at high temperatures and becoming brittle. The heat treatment temperature is generally 950-1300℃.

Tantalum tube molding process

Rolling/stretching (suitable for thin-walled tubes or high-precision tubes)
Perforated tube billet: Tantalum ingots are forged or cut into bars, and a hole is punched in the center with a piercer (such as a Mann-type piercer) to form a hollow tube billet.
Hot rolling: The tube billet is rolled on a hot rolling mill for multiple passes to reduce the wall thickness and outer diameter. Intermediate annealing (800~1000℃) is required to eliminate work hardening.
Cold rolling/stretching: further processed to the target size (such as outer diameter φ0.1~100mm, wall thickness 0.05~5mm) through cold rolling machine or stretching die, can produce capillary or precision tube.

Packing and delivery

Packaging and delivery of tantalum tubes
Inspection: Before packaging, check whether the product surface has defects such as Huaheng and dents, and confirm the size and tolerance.
Cleaning: Use sewage ethanol or special cleaning agent to remove surface oil and dust. After drying, wrap it with plastic film to prevent oxidation and pollution.
Packaging: Use standard export wooden boxes, fix the inside with fillers, and reinforce the outside of the wooden box with iron bars..
