Steelmaking Molybdenum Strips

Steelmaking molybdenum strips mainly as an additive to steel to improve the high temperature strength and toughness of steel.

Molybdenum strips are mainly used to draw fine molybdenum wires, molybdenum electrodes, steelmaking additives.

According to statistics, 50% of molybdenum is currently used in the steel industry. Molybdenum, as an alloying element of steel, can improve the strength of steel, especially the strength and toughness of high temperature, in addition, it can improve the corrosion resistance of steel in acid-base solutions and liquid metals, thereby improving the wear resistance of steel and improving hardenability, weldability and heat resistance. Molybdenum is a good carbide forming element, not oxidized in the steelmaking process, can be used alone or in combination with other alloying elements. The consumption of molybdenum in special steel is growing regularly, and the current molybdenum consumption per ton of special steel has reached the level of 0.201 kg. For example, molybdenum and chromium, nickel, manganese and silicon can make different types of stainless steel, tool steel, high-speed steel and alloy steel. The stainless steel made has good corrosion resistance, can be used for oil extraction corrosion-resistant steel pipes, a molybdenum about 6% stainless steel can also replace titanium for seawater desalination devices.

Steelmaking molybdenum strips can be made into two shapes, molybdenum rods (Φ(16-30mm)× (≥30)mm) and molybdenum strips ((10-16)mm×(10-16)mm× (≥30)mm), the main impurity content of Fe ≤ 0.050%, Ni ≤ 0.30%, Si ≤ 1.0%, O≤ 0.008%. General packaging can be packed in wooden boxes or iron drums, each box is about 50 kilograms, and the iron barrel is about 100 kilograms per barrel.
