The Production of Niobium Zirconium Alloy (Niobium-10Zirconium Target)
Niobium-zirconium alloy 10 (Nb-Zr 90/10 wt%) is made using five different techniques.

Step 1

Employ a weighted mixture of 89.5%-90% hydrogenation-dehydrogenation niobium powder and 9.5%–10.5% zirconium sponge.100% is the overall percentage.

Step 2

Purify the niobium powder, make an electrode from it by hydrogenating and dehydrating it, and then cast niobium ingots from it in a vacuum arc furnace.

Step 3

Clean, vacuum-dry, and remove any contaminants from the atomic energy level zirconium sponge before forming it into an ingot. Roll the ingot through both hot and cold forging to create zirconium sheet.

Step 4

Step 2 calls for cutting the zirconium sheet into strips that are the same length as the niobium ingot. Niobium-zirconium compound ingots (Nb-Zr 90/10 wt%) are produced by securely adhering zirconium strips to niobium ingots and then placing them in a vacuumed container filled with argon.

Step 5

The niobium-zirconium compound ingot Nb-Zr 90/10 wt% needs to melt onto an electrode first, then melt for 5–6 hours in a consumable electrode vacuum furnace, followed by 3–4 hours of gas cooling. The alloy ingot is divided, melted for an additional 5–6 hours, and cooled in argon for 3.5–4 hours.Ultimately, obtain Nb-Zr 90/10 wt% niobium-zirconium.
