Method of Manufacture of Niobium C-103
C103 Niobium Alloy Wire is a high melting point niobium alloy. Production of C-103 ingots and mechanical process are included in the fabrication process. Combining an electron beam cast with a vacuum consumable electrode arc furnace produces niobium hafnium alloy ingots. Afterwards, C-103 is forged or extruded at temperatures above 1200°C. Niobium hafnium alloy C-103 is produced into sheets, strips, rods, wire, or other fittings by rolling and drawing it at temperatures under 500°C.
