Introduction to Vanadium Metal Powder

Vanadium is a silvery grey metal with an atomic number of 23 and an atomic weight of 50.9414. Vanadium has a high melting point, is a refractory metal, ductile, hard, and non-magnetic. It has the ability to resist hydrochloric and sulphuric acids and is more resistant to gas, salt, and water corrosion than most stainless steel. At room temperature, dense metallic vanadium is relatively stable and does not react with air, water, or alkalis, and is resistant to dilute acids.

Vanadium powder is a silver-grey metallic powder that is soluble in nitric acid, aqua regia, and concentrated sulphuric acid. The melting point of vanadium powder is 1820±10°C. The boiling point is 3000°C. Vanadium powder is usually stored in a sealed container. It is mainly used for fast neutron reactor envelope materials, superconducting materials, and special alloy additives.
