Vanadium powder is a silver grey metallic powder with a particle size of 1 - 100 nm and is soluble in nitric acid, aqua regia and concentrated sulphuric acid. The melting point is 1820±10°C. Boiling point is 3000°C. It is usually kept hermetically sealed. Mainly used as fast neutron reactor envelope material, superconducting material and special alloy additive. Can be well used and studied in vanadium products, in the field of thermal spraying and in powder metallurgy processes.

Vanadium, element symbol V, is a silver-grey metal with an atomic number of 23 and an atomic weight of 50.9414, in a body-centred cubic crystal. Vanadium has a high melting point, is a refractory metal, ductile, hard and non-magnetic. It has the ability to resist hydrochloric and sulphuric acids and is more resistant to gas, salt and water corrosion than most stainless steels. At room temperature, dense metallic vanadium is relatively stable and does not react with air, water or alkali, and is also resistant to dilute acids.
