Nitinol rod is produced by Baoji Yusheng Metal from several grades of nickel titanium alloy that are frequently utilized in medical applications as well as other different applications. According to ASTM F2063, a nickel content of 54.5–57 wt% is required for use in surgical implants when using medical grade nitinol material, which is composed of titanium and nickel in almost equal atomic weight percentages. Other applications are possible for nitinol with various compositions and phase changeover temperatures.
