Product Introduction

A fabrication byproduct of nitinol alloy is nitinol strip. The thermo-mechanical characteristics of super elasticity and shape memory effect of nitinol are well known. When Nitinol deforms at one temperature and then recovers its original, underformed shape when heated above its transformation temperature, this is referred to as having "shape memory." A small temperature range just above its transition point is where super elasticity occurs. In this instance, the underformed shape can recover without the need for heating, and the material has extremely high elasticity—about 10–30 times greater than that of common metal.

Shape Memory Effect: The term "Shape Memory" refers to the sample's return to its original shape after being plastically deformed.
Superelastic Effect: A phase transition between a crystal's austenitic and martensitic phases that results in an elastic (reversible) reaction to an applied temperature.
Shape memory and superelasticity are two distinct yet closely related characteristics of the metal alloy nitinol. We offer both types of nickel foil and strip.

For unique applications, we provide nickel titanium alloy strip, shape memory alloy strip, or superelastic alloy strip, allowing for novel design features while keeping all of the benefits of wire.
Our continuous length nitinol strip is offered in fully annealed or superelastic states, both of which are suitable for secondary processes like as stamping and shaping. Our strip and foil are produced to exacting mechanical, dimensional, and alloy composition standards.

Information on our nickel titanium alloy strip's packaging

The majority is packaged in wooden crates to preserve it during handling and delivery. For a few high precision nickel pieces, we can provide a vacuum pack. Nitinol thin rolls are stored in cartons.
